PPCC Organizes ‘Save the Constitution’ Rally in Hoshiarpur
Strengthen the Hands of Sunder Sham Arora in Upcoming Assembly Elections – Raja Warring
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/June 29 : The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) organized a massive ‘Save the Constitution’ rally on Sunday at City Centre, Jodhamal Road, Hoshiarpur. The rally saw participation from top Congress leaders, hundreds of party workers, and elected representatives.
Addressing the gathering, PPCC President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring accused the central government of deliberately trying to undermine the basic spirit of the Indian Constitution. He launched a scathing attack on the ideology of the RSS, stating that the Congress Party is ready to pay any price to defend the Constitution.
“We will bring the country back on the constitutional path and confront the anti-Constitution forces with full strength,” he declared.
He further said that RSS chief Golwalkar had openly rejected the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, claiming it was assembled from various foreign constitutions. “This very ideology poses the biggest threat to our Constitution today,” Warring said.
He also lashed out at Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing him of collaborating with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to attack protesting farmers at midnight, saying, “This act was unconstitutional and proves the AAP government’s collusion with the BJP.”
Raja Warring appealed to the people to support former minister Sunder Sham Arora in the upcoming Assembly elections, calling him “a true people’s leader who stands by the public in every situation.”
Towards the end of the rally, former Cabinet Minister Sunder Sham Arora said that India’s first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad had once described the Constitution as the most superior document, capable of serving every section of society if followed in its true spirit.
“Unfortunately, today’s government is not running the country as per the Constitution. Even independent institutions like the judiciary are facing covert threats, which is a grave threat to democracy,” he added.
The rally witnessed the presence of Subhash Sharma (INTUC), former MLA Sandeep Sandhu, chairpersons, councilors, panchs, sarpanchs, Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, and NSUI members. From early afternoon, a large crowd of supporters began to gather, and by 4 PM, the entire area was packed with Congress workers.
