Voting date for by-election changed from November 13 to November 20
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Npvember 04 : Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal said that the Election Commission of India has changed the voting date for Chabbewal by-election. After the change in dates, now voting for Chabbewal Assembly by-election will be held on November 20 instead of November 13. She said that there has been no change in the counting and completion dates of election work and counting will be done on November 23 and completion of election work will be on November 25.
The District Election Officer said that the Election Commission received representations from various recognized national and state level political parties and some social organizations, requesting that the date of voting be changed due to social, cultural and religious events in some assembly constituencies on November 13, 2024. Due to these events, people may face inconvenience, various systemic problems may arise and the participation of citizens in voting may decrease. Considering all these aspects and the requests received, the Commission has decided to change the date of voting for the by-election from November 13 to November 20.
