Civil Surgeon Conducts Surprise Inspection

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/May 5 : Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Mandeep Kamal conducted a surprise and detailed inspection of District Hospital Hoshiarpur and Community Health Centre (CHC) Tanda today, in line with Punjab Health Department directions. All staff were found present on duty, and the SMO along with other staff extended full cooperation.
At District Hospital Hoshiarpur, Dr. Kamal closely inspected the MCH Wing, children’s ward, laboratory and pharmacy, among other units. She expressed satisfaction with the overall arrangements, but issued strict directions to further strengthen cleanliness so that patients do not face any inconvenience. She also instructed the staff to ensure regular checks of medicine availability and expiry dates.
During the visit, she interacted with patients to enquire about their condition and the facilities being provided to them. The patients expressed satisfaction with the services. She also directed the staff to treat patients with politeness and respect.
At CHC Tanda, she reviewed the process of issuing cards under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme (MMSY). Where card generation was low, she directed officials to increase awareness and achieve the target. She also appreciated the special MMSY counter set up at Tanda.
She spoke with pregnant women in the gynaecology ward and took stock of the healthcare services being provided there, expressing satisfaction. She observed that emergency services at CHC Tanda were functioning smoothly and that all arrangements were in place.
She also inspected various wards and reviewed the overall management of health services.
Dr. Kamal issued strict directions to ensure drinking water, shade for patients and other necessary facilities at all health institutions to protect people from the heatwave. She also asked that fire safety rules be strictly followed on priority.
She specifically instructed staff to provide better and priority-based healthcare services to high-risk pregnant women.
She said the Punjab Health Department remains committed to delivering quality and free healthcare services to the public, and that this requires everyone to work with responsibility and dedication
