Complete Ban on Carrying Weapons

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Dec.2 : In view of the upcoming District Council and Panchayat Committee elections in Punjab, the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain has issued an order under Section 163 of the Indian Citizen Security Code, 2023, to maintain peace and law and order within Hoshiarpur district boundaries.The order strictly prohibits carrying any kind of licensed weapons, explosives, kirpan, spear, javelin, hatchet, knives, or any instruments that could disturb public peace inside the district until December 19, 2025.However, the order exempts army generals, paramilitary forces, police personnel, bank security guards, factory security guards, petrol pump owners, money exchange owners, jewelry shop owners, sportspersons who are members of the National Rifle Association and participating in events, persons issued Z Security, or those provided private security by the honorable courts.
