District reviews preparations for Independence

Hoshiarpur/July 23/Daljeet Ajnoha : Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, Assistant Commissioner (General) Sumit Mudh today held a review meeting with officials from various departments to ensure the district-level Independence Day function is organised with dignity and efficiency. While taking stock of preparations, he instructed officers to complete their assigned tasks within the prescribed timelines.
Mudh said the district-level Independence Day function will be held with enthusiasm, patriotism and due honour on August 15 at the Police Lines Ground, Hoshiarpur. He urged that, in view of the national significance of the occasion, no complacency be shown in preparations and that all departments work in close coordination to make the event grand and memorable.
During the meeting, he reviewed parade preparations, cleanliness of the venue, stage and seating arrangements, invitations to guests, developmental tableaux by various departments, cultural programmes, felicitation of freedom fighters and families of martyrs, security arrangements, traffic management, medical facilities, drinking water, electricity and other essential services. He directed the concerned officers to ensure all preparations are completed ahead of schedule and that each department implements regular monitoring of its responsibilities.
Mudh said Independence Day is not merely a national festival but an occasion to pay homage to the supreme sacrifices of the country’s brave freedom fighters, and therefore every arrangement should reflect dignity, discipline and a spirit of nationalism.
Also present at the meeting were Municipal Commissioner Jyoti Bala Mattu, SDM Hoshiarpur Parmpreet Singh, Assistant Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur and other departmental officers.
