Janouri and Jhameri Patti included under urban pattern; uninterrupted 24-hour power supply to begin soon
Says holistic development of Kandi region is one of his top priorities
Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/July 1 : There’s great news for the residents of Punjab’s Kandi region. The long-standing electricity crisis faced by the villages of Janouri and Jhameri Patti is finally nearing an end. In a significant announcement, Punjab’s Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh revealed that these villages will now receive 24-hour uninterrupted electricity in the coming days.
He shared that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has included these villages in the urban power supply pattern, ensuring continuous electricity similar to that provided in cities.
Dr. Ravjot Singh further explained that a 66 KV sub-station was established in Janeori nearly 14–15 years ago, but it was never connected to the urban grid. As a result, the local residents had to endure frequent power cuts. Now, work has begun to fully integrate this sub-station with the urban electricity grid, which will ensure round-the-clock power in the near future.
He emphasized that this move is not just about improving electricity supply, but a historic step toward the all-round development of the Kandi region. The initiative is expected to boost progress in education, healthcare, industry, and agriculture as well.
Dr. Ravjot Singh reiterated that the comprehensive development of the Kandi belt remains one of his key priorities. He assured that all necessary steps will be taken to equip the region with complete basic infrastructure in the time ahead.
He extended special thanks to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for this crucial decision and congratulated all local residents on this achievement. “This is not just about electricity,” he said, “it’s a symbol of a bright and empowered future for the region.”
