Hoshiarpur/ Daleet Ajnoha/November 04 : Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that ‘Aadhaar’ is an important identity document issued by the Government of India, which provides various benefits to the citizens. Aadhaar card can be used as proof of identity, address and age while applying for any government service. It is the basis of India’s digital transformation, which promotes efficiency, transparency and inclusiveness in various sectors.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that according to the report received from UIDAI New Delhi, Aadhaar cards of 47,269 children below the age of 5 years have not been made in Hoshiarpur district. Apart from this, mandatory biometric updates are pending for 1,35,966 children aged 5 to 15 years. She also informed that a large number of citizens of the district do not have mobile numbers linked to Aadhaar cards and biometrics are not updated, due to which they face difficulty while getting the service. She appealed to all the citizens of the district to go to their nearest service center and get their and their children’s Aadhaar updated, so that in future any kind of office related problems can be avoided due to unupdated Aadhaar.
District IT Manager Karamjit Singh informed that Aadhaar card service is available in all the service centers of Hoshiarpur district. Apart from this, keeping in mind the public interest, 3-4 Aadhaar counters are also available in the service center located in the District Administrative Complex. Aadhaar card service is available even on Sundays in the service centers located in Tanda, Dasuha, Garhshankar and District Administrative Complex.
