Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha ,oct 03 : Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain on Friday launched the “Go Solar – Adopt Solar Energy, Brighten Your Future” project, pledging to bring solar energy to every household in the district.She highlighted that the initiative aims to reduce electricity bills, promote clean energy, and contribute to environmental protection. Under the scheme, citizens will receive subsidy up to ₹78,000, easy bank loans, and a hassle-free installation process to be completed within 45–60 days.Jain explained that most families consume more than 300 units of electricity annually, leading to heavy bills, which solar panels could significantly reduce. She also noted recent training programs by the National Power Training Institute, where over 80 PSPCL employees were equipped with skills for rooftop solar system implementation.The application process will involve meter readers visiting homes, approved vendors taking care of paperwork and installations, and subsidies being credited directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts within 15–30 days. QR codes and helpline number 75899-44720 have been issued to
assist citizens.DC Jain appealed to residents to quickly adopt this scheme, stressing that it would not only cut costs but also move the district towards a cleaner and greener future.Secretary of Red Cross Society Mangesh Sood and Joint Secretary Aditya Rana were also present at the launch.
