Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/Dec.2 : A grand 25-day Gurmat celebration was organized by the management committee of the New Guru Sahib at Patti village, Hoshiarpur district, to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Satguru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji along with his disciples Bhai Mati Dass Ji, Bhai Sati Dass Ji, and Bhai Diala Ji.Throughout the 25-day event held at the New Gurudwara Sahib, large numbers of local Sangat gathered daily to participate in the recitation of the Mool Mantra and reading of the Shalok of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji composed in the ninth Mehl. The event also featured continuous narrations highlighting the glorious history and sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.In the concluding days, after the completion of Akhand Paath Sahib, the Kirtanis of the Gurudwara enthralled the Sangat with Katha Kirtan, Gurmat discussions, and historical insights about the Gurudwara.During the event, Bhai Raja Singh Khalsa and other speakers addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the unparalleled sacrifice of Satguru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and his disciples—for protecting the rights of Tilak and Janju, respecting all religions, religious freedom, and human rights—should be promoted globally. This, they stressed, would strengthen brotherhood, love, and contribute to building a better, more egalitarian society.The speakers urged everyone to follow the ideals taught in Gurbani—service, Simran (meditation on God), walking the path of universal welfare, and receiving the nectar of Khande Batte—to align with the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.The celebration was supported by chief sevadar Bhai Raja Singh Khalsa along with Balvir Singh Khajanchi, Sardar Singh, Amarjit Singh Gill, Surinderpal Singh, Dalwinder Singh, Vijay Singh, Ikjotpreet, Sacha Singh Banga, Harjinder Singh, other dignitaries, and a large congregation.Devotees who served with full dedication of body, mind, and wealth during the event were honored with Siropas by the Gurudwara. On Martyrdom Day, a grand Nagar Kirtan was organized under the shelter of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and led by the Panj Pyare. The Guru’s Langar was continuously served to the Sangat throughout the function.
