Hoshiarpur /Daljeet Ajnoha/Nov.13 : The 31st Nikian Karumblan Literary Creation Competition, organized by Sur Sangam Vidyak Trust, Mahilpur, concluded successfully with an outstanding display of creativity and talent from students representing Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, and Kapurthala districts. The event aimed to nurture young writers and artists through categories including essay writing, poetry, story writing, and painting.Harkirat Kaur, Baneet Singh, Anamika, and Gurasis Singh bagged first positions in their respective categories. The winners will be felicitated with certificates and cash rewards under the Gyani Harkewal Singh Sailani Memorial Scholarship, presented by noted critic, writer, and journalist S. Ashok Bhaura.The event was graced by distinguished guests, including ophthalmologist Dr. Parminder Singh and international athlete Amandeep Singh Bains. In their addresses, they encouraged students to pursue excellence with courage and dedication, emphasizing that perseverance turns every challenge into success.Eminent Punjabi writer Baljinder Mann guided participants to enhance their literary abilities by reading widely across genres. Dr. Parminder Singh was also honored for his exemplary contributions to social service. All participants received sets of books as tokens of appreciation.The competition results are as follows:Essay Writing: Harkirat Kaur (Government High School, Tutomajara) – First; Srishti (Khalsa Collegiate School, Mahilpur) – Second; Arshpreet Kaur (PM Shri Government Girls Secondary School, Mahilpur) – Third.Story Writing: Baneet Singh (Government High School, Kalewal Bhagtan) – First; Japandeep Singh (Ankur Public High School, Mahilpur) – Second; Raghav Singh (Khalsa Collegiate School, Mahilpur) – Third.Poetry Writing: Anamika (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Public School, Laddewala) – First; Reetika Heer (Monika Memorial School, Maili) – Second; Tarannum Raju (King Edward Public School, Tutomajara) – Third.Painting (Punjabi Culture Theme): Gurasis Sahni (Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa Collegiate School, Mahilpur) – First; Amanpreet Kaur (Ankur Public School, Mahilpur) – Second; Muskan Kaur (St. Soldier Divine Public School, Mahilpur) – Third.The program was smoothly conducted by versatile artist Sukhman Singh, whose engaging presentation captivated the audience. The winners were announced by Managing Editor Manjit Kaur, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Kuldeep Kaur Bains.
