JalandharJuly 25 | Daljeet Ajnoha : A two-day mega Artificial Limb Distribution Camp organized by the All India Aggarwal Conference, Punjab Chapter, on July 22–23 at the Red Cross Bhawan, Jalandhar, created a new milestone in Punjab’s history of social service. In this humanitarian event, hundreds of differently-abled individuals were provided free artificial limbs and hearing aids, instilling in them a renewed sense of confidence, dignity, and independence.
The camp was organized to mark the “Golden Jubilee Year” (1975–2025) of the All India Aggarwal Conference. The initiative received special support from the Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti, Jaipur.
One of the most touching moments of the event was when a young differently-abled boy — with neither hands nor legs — came on stage to receive artificial limbs. His radiant smile and indomitable spirit brought tears to everyone’s eyes. The emotions of the organizers, doctors, and volunteers overflowed, describing the moment as the true embodiment of “sewa dharma” (service as a sacred duty).
During the camp, approximately 100 differently-abled individuals were fitted with artificial hands and legs, 55 hearing aids were distributed, along with 16 wheelchairs, 3 tricycles, and 6 walking sticks (crutches).
In his valedictory address, Punjab State President Shri Surendra Aggarwal expressed that this camp was a victory of service and humanity. He emphasized that the event not only provided artificial limbs but also paved the way for a life of self-respect and confidence for the beneficiaries. “We are descendants of Maharaja Agrasen, and serving society is our responsibility. This camp is living proof of that tradition,” he said. He assured all differently-abled brothers and sisters that they are not alone — society stands with them. He also extended heartfelt gratitude to all project in-charges, doctors, state and district officials, the Jaipur team, and local volunteers for their tireless contributions.
Distinguished guests present included Ramesh Mittal, Chairman of Lovely Group; Naresh Mittal, Vice Chairman of Lovely Group; Atul Bhagat, son of Punjab Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat; Sanjeev Vasal, Chairman of Vasal Education Group; and Ashwani Aggarwal, Municipal Councillor, Jalandhar.
The camp brought new light into the lives of many differently-abled individuals and served as a powerful message to society that empathy and unity are vital in service-driven missions. With the spirit of “Service is Religion,” this event has become a golden chapter in Punjab’s social history.
