Discussion was held to celebrate Dussehra festival in a smooth and systematic manner
– Appealed not to burst crackers with the holy idols of Lord Shri Hanuman ji, DJ will be banned
– On the day of Dussehra, no kind of crackers will be allowed in the Dussehra ground with the idols of Lord Hanuman ji
– Crackers should be burst only at the time fixed by the administration: Deputy Commissioner
Hoshiarpur : Daljeet Ajnoha- Oct.11 : In the presence of MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa, today the civil and police administration held a meeting with Shri Ram Leela Committee under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and SSP Surendra Lamba to celebrate Dussehra festival in a smooth and systematic manner. In this joint meeting, first of all expressing concern over the incident of explosion of firecrackers in Prahlad Nagar of the city this morning, MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, SSP Surendra Lamba and Shri Ram Leela Committee President Gopi Chand Kapoor appealed to all the religious organizations of the city, especially Mahavir Dals, not to burst firecrackers with the holy forms of Lord Shri Hanuman Ji so that along with the dignity of the Lord, the safety of everyone can also be ensured.
During this time, while the Deputy Commissioner and SSP gave instructions to the officials of the concerned departments regarding the preparations for the Dussehra festival, they also appealed to the religious organizations to cooperate with the administration. He said that the district administration is serious about the safety of the people but the cooperation of the common people is also very important in this. The Deputy Commissioner said that carrying DJ along with the idols of Lord Hanuman is prohibited, so all religious organizations should follow this so that people do not face any kind of problem. Taking stock of the security arrangements, SSP Surender Lamba discussed with the officials of Shri Ram Leela Committee about the solid arrangements of stage and barricading. She said that the district police will leave no stone unturned in terms of traffic and security. During this, MLA Jimpa, Deputy Commissioner and SSP along with officials of various departments took stock of the Dussehra ground and also reviewed the arrangements. During this, it was decided by the administration and Shri Ram Leela Committee that on the day of Dussehra, firecrackers will not be allowed to enter the Dussehra ground along with the idols of Lord Shri Hanuman.
The Deputy Commissioner said that in view of the festivals, the day and time has been fixed for bursting firecrackers and fireworks in the district. She informed that firecrackers can be burnt from 8 am to 10 pm on Diwali on 31 October 2024, from 4 am to 5 am on Guruparva on 15 November and from 9 pm to 10 pm. Firecrackers can be burst from 11:55 pm to 12:30 pm on Christmas on 25 December and New Year on 31 December (midnight). She said that apart from this, firecrackers will not be allowed within 100 meters of silence zones like hospitals, educational institutions, courts and religious places. She has directed all Sub Divisional Magistrates, Area Magistrates, District Police to ensure compliance of these orders and instructions issued by the government from time to time.
