In Vastu Shastra, the shape of the plot and the building is given special importance. It has been well described in our ancient literature and scriptures. Indecent shape is considered condemnable. International architect and author Dr Bhupender Vastushastri believes that if the house in which we are living is rectangular or square, then it comes in the category of auspiciousness. The condition is that the plot should not pierce the Sun or the Moon. Even in a rectangular plot, if the building is wide and the construction of the unit is in accordance with Vastu, then that building will be no less than a palace. Every person living there will get success with immense wealth. If the wide building is commercial, then there are immense possibilities of Lakshmi’s arrival there. If there is a side spread and a stomach spread in the inner room of the same building, then the people living in the stomach spread will be unsuccessful and the people living in the side spread will be successful. On the contrary, if the plot is stomach spread and also pierces the Sun or Moon, then the residents of that place will have to face failure again and again. With the stomach spread and side spread buildings, if the shape is triangular, pentagonal, hexagonal, or indecent shape or any angle is decreasing or increasing, then also it gives bad results. In Vastu, only the increase of the northeast corner is considered auspicious. If the northeast corner is cut in any shape, then the owner will always have problems of wealth, education, children, disease, etc. And if the south direction has been extended, then various kinds of troubles will keep coming, even death-like sufferings may have to be faced.
