Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Oct 29 : Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab (LTSU) successfully organized the Career Guidance and Counselling Meet 2025, a district-level initiative aimed at empowering school guidance counsellors and educators with the latest insights into career-oriented education. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 114 schools across the district, reflecting the growing emphasis on effective career guidance at the school level.
The workshop was organized under the guidance of Mr. Prem Kumar Mittal, District Education Officer (DEO), Rupnagar, and was graced by esteemed dignitaries including S. Nirmal Singh Rayat, Hon’ble Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) A.S. Chawla, Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.S. Satyal, Registrar, and Mr. Vimal Manhotra, CEO, Lamrin Tech Skills University.The meet focused on strengthening the framework of career counselling in schools and fostering stronger collaboration between educators and institutions of higher learning.
The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the guests. Prof. (Dr.) A.S. Chawla, Vice Chancellor, LTSU, emphasized the importance of career guidance and counselling, drawing upon his 46 years of rich academic and administrative experience. His insightful words inspired participants and set a motivating tone for the day.
Dr..Ashutosh Sharma, Executive Dean, School of Commerce and Management, LTSU, shared the vision and philosophy of the university, presenting an overview of the programs offered under regular, industry-integrated, and government-sponsored schemes. He also highlighted LTSU’s various achievements and milestones in the field of skill-based education.
Dr. Navneet Chopra, Dean Academics and R&D, LTSU, elaborated on the key features of the National Education Policy (NEP) and the National Credit Framework (NCrF), emphasizing their role in bridging the gap between school education and higher education.
The resource sessions were conducted by Mr. Prabhjeet Singh District Guidance Counsellor, and Dr. Jasvir Singh, Guidance Counsellor from the DC Office, Rupnagar. They shared valuable insights on effective counselling strategies and career planning pathways for students .Mr Baljinder Singh, Guidance Counsellor, GSSS Phoolpur Grewal, also delivered an informative lecture highlighting the pivotal role of guidance and counselling in shaping students’ futures.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Prem Kumar Mittal, DEO Rupnagar, commended the participating schools and counsellors for their active engagement and enthusiasm. The workshop concluded with an interactive session, where counsellors exchanged experiences, shared best practices, and discussed collaborative approaches to help students make informed career choices.
