Punjab Government Must Immediately Complete the Incomplete Notification Dated November 18, 2022 – Jasvir Bodal
HOSHIARPUR/Daljeet Ajnoha/June 8
A meeting of the Old Pension Restoration Struggle Committee, Dasuya Block, was held under the leadership of Jasvir Bodal and Rohit Kumar. They informed that as per the program announced by the State Committee, the Dasuya Block will actively participate in the massive Flag March scheduled for June 12 in the Ludhiana West Assembly constituency. During the march, voters of the constituency will be made aware of the government’s double standards.
On this occasion, State Convenor Jasvir Talwara and District President of GTU, Principal Amandeep Sharma, stated that the massive Flag March will be a protest against the government’s anti-employee policies. Despite issuing a notification on the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for NPS-affected employees, the government has yet to release the corresponding Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). This delay has caused deep resentment among over two lakh NPS-affected employees across the state.
They pointed out that while the Finance Minister claims a revenue of ₹62,733 crore from GST, the government cites an empty treasury when it comes to fulfilling the demands of employees. The speakers emphasized that the government’s hypocrisy will be exposed during the upcoming Ludhiana by-election.
Prominent attendees included: State Secretary Varinder Vikki, District Secretary Tilak Raj, S. Amar Singh Tanda, Rajat Mahajan, Umesh Kumar, Gurkirpal Bodal, Lecturer Davinder Singh, Rajesh Arora, Jatinder Mand, Sukhwinder Bodal, Sandeep Khalsi, Bhupinder Singh, Amit Kumar, Surinder Bhatti, Jasvir Librarian, Madam Geeta, Madam Bhupinderjit Kaur, and others who were present in special attendance.
