Visited the hospital to know the condition of the youth injured in the accident
Appealed to religious organizations to stop the tradition of bursting firecrackers with the holy images of Lord Hanuman
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha : Oct.11 – MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa today visited the Livassa hospital to inquire about the condition of the youth injured in the accident caused by the explosion of firecrackers in Mohalla Prahlad Nagar of Hoshiarpur and talked to their families. He expressed deep grief over this incident and wished for the speedy recovery of all the injured. During this, MLA Jimpa, in view of the seriousness of the accident, appealed to the city residents to take care of safety and religious decorum.
MLA Jimpa expressed concern over the tradition of bursting firecrackers with the holy images of Lord Hanuman during Dussehra festival. He said that this tradition, which has been going on for decades, is not right from the security point of view despite being associated with religious beliefs. In Prahlad Nagar today, many youths have been seriously injured due to fire in a bag of firecrackers, which is a sad and worrying incident. This accident has also caused a lot of damage in the area.
MLA Jimpa appealed to all the religious organizations of the city and said that in order to maintain the dignity of the forms of Lord Shri Hanuman Ji and in view of the safety of the devotees, the tradition of bursting firecrackers with Hanuman Ji should be ended from today itself. He said that continuing this tradition can lead to even bigger accidents, as can be seen from today’s incident.
MLA Jimpa also asked the administration to ensure that such incidents do not happen in future and strong security arrangements should be made. He assured that all possible help will be provided to the injured and they will get proper medical facilities. During this, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Councilor Pradeep Bittu, Dheeraj Sharma were also present with him.
