Modi’s Performance Outstanding Despite

Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/June 13 : Former cabinet minister and senior BJP leader Tikshan Sood said that under the elected prime ministership of Narender Modi — now a record tenure — the country has seen unparalleled progress across all sectors. He said that over the past 12 years development has been inclusive and non-discriminatory, and that India’s economy, which ranked 11th in 2014, has risen to fourth place. India is now recognised globally not only as a major consumer but also as a large producer and exporter.
Sood noted that the World Bank recently warned that the global economy could remain under stress due to the war in Central Asia. However, he called it good news for Indians that India’s GDP is expected to remain resilient despite the global downturn. World Bank data show that global growth is likely to fall to around 2.5 percent, and could drop as low as 1.3 percent if disruptions to petroleum supplies increase.
He added that, according to the World Bank, India’s GDP is projected to grow by 7.7 percent in 2026 and 6.6 percent in 2027. By contrast, the U.S. GDP is estimated at about 2.2 percent and China’s at 4.2–4.4 percent for the current fiscal year. Sood said that the opposition may criticise Prime Minister Narender Modi, but that Modi’s competence and skill have strengthened India’s economy, which has nearly recovered to pre-COVID levels. Even when the rest of the world faced recession during the pandemic, India’s economic resilience remained intact under Modi’s leadership.
