Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/July 8 : Newly appointed District President (Rural) of Shiromani Akali Dal and Core Committee Member, Jathedar Lakhwinder Singh Lucky, paid obeisance at Gurdwara Shaheeda Ladewal. On this occasion, he was honored with a traditional siropa (robe of honor) by Head Granthi Harbans Singh and Bhupinder Singh as a blessing from the Guru’s house.
Later, Akali workers from Chabbewal and Garhshankar honored him under the leadership of Jathedar Iqbal Singh Khera and Harpreet Singh Rinku Bedi.
During a special conversation with senior journalist Daljeet Ajnoha, Jathedar Lucky expressed his gratitude to the Shiromani Akali Dal High Command for entrusting him with the responsibilities of District President (Rural) and Core Committee Member. He stated that he is deeply aware of the recent turmoil within the party and is committed to restoring the party’s former strength and credibility in the district.
He emphasized that those causing harm to the party from within will face strict action. Jathedar Lucky noted that he has previously served the party in several important positions and has been actively involved since 1990 with complete dedication. He pledged to work towards reviving the party’s golden era, similar to that of 1997, and vowed to carry every worker along in this journey.
After assuming office, he has visited various areas, listened to the concerns of the workers, and assured them that he will take their issues to the high command for resolution, ensuring no worker faces difficulties and all can serve the party with full devotion.
Jathedar Iqbal Singh Khera and Harpreet Singh Rinku Bedi jointly stated that Jathedar Lakhwinder Singh Lucky had previously strengthened the party by organizing meetings across various areas of the district, and back then, the alliance secured 7 out of 9 seats. With his reappointment, workers now feel a new golden chapter is beginning for the Akali Dal.
