Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Mar.14 : PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur conducted a sponsored training course in collaboration with Verka, Hoshiarpur on “Good hygiene practices and good manufacturing practices” on 11th and 12th March 2026 under National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD) in which 80 farmers and farm women participated.
In the inaugural session, Dr. Maninder Singh Bons, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur welcomed the farmers and enlightened them about the services rendered by KVK for the betterment of the farming community and exhorted them to adopt dairy farming as subsidiary occupations for enhancing their income.
During this training, Dr. Parminder Singh, Associate Professor (Animal Science), KVK, Hoshiarpur gave detailed lectures on various aspects of dairy farming including breeds of cows/buffaloes, balanced ration for dairy animals, vaccinations, prevention from ecto and endo parasites, good hygiene practices for clean milk production and good manufacturing practices.
In the end, Mrs. Amandeep Kaur, Manager (Procurement), Verka Milk Plant, Hoshiarpur thanked KVK and the experts for conducting the training.
