MLA Bramh Shankar Jimpa Appointed Chairman of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Petition Committee
Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/ July 22 : Hoshiarpur MLA Bramh Shankar Jimpa has been appointed as the Chairman of the Petition Committee of the Punjab Legislative Assembly for the financial year 2025–26. Expressing gratitude to the Speaker of the Assembly and the party leadership for the appointment, Jimpa said he would carry out this responsibility with full honesty and dedication.
Jimpa stated that the primary objective of the Petition Committee is to ensure impartial investigation and timely resolution of complaints, public interest petitions, and other applications submitted by citizens to the Assembly. He emphasized that it is the government’s duty to provide quick and effective redressal of genuine issues so that people’s faith in democracy is further strengthened.
The MLA appealed to the general public to prepare their complaints and applications in written form and submit them to the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat in Chandigarh through a recommendation from their respective MLAs. He added that if any department fails to address a legitimate complaint or unnecessarily delays the matter, the Petition Committee will take serious cognizance of such issues and direct the concerned departments to act accordingly.
Jimpa said that his top priority is to protect public interests and strengthen democratic processes. He affirmed his commitment to ensuring that every citizen’s voice reaches the right platform through the Assembly. He assured that the committee will work with complete impartiality and leave no stone unturned in resolving the issues faced by the public.
