Drug traffickers targeted in statewide crackdown : ADGP
‘CASO’ operations continue province-wide/Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/March 19
In a bid to make Punjab drug-free, Punjab Police launched a special CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) across the state today. In Hoshiarpur, police teams conducted extensive searches in various areas with heavy deployment.ADGP Shive Kumar Verma, who visited Bahadarpur area, told mediapersons that the operation is being carried out on the directions of the Chief Minister and DGP Punjab.Around 18 locations in Hoshiarpur district are covered under this search operation.Nearly 500 police personnel have been deployed solely in Hoshiarpur. Teams are particularly targeting homes of individuals previously named in drug trafficking cases or those under suspicion.
