Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb.19 : Rayat Bahra Engineering College, in collaboration with Punjab Technical University, organized the ‘Grassroots Innovators of Punjab’ program to inspire students towards innovation and entrepreneurship. The event witnessed the participation of teachers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and representatives from Gram Panchayats, who shared their experiences.
College Director-Principal Dr. Gurjeet Singh welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in students’ careers. Chief Guest Dr. Mriginder Singh Bedi, Assistant Director of the Business Nurturing Center, Punjab Technical University, briefed students about the ‘Grassroots Innovators Scheme.’ He highlighted that the Punjab Government and the University provide financial assistance and mentorship to young innovators under this scheme.
Dr. Bedi elaborated on financial support and seed capital for new startups. Innovator Surjit Singh Chagger demonstrated his maize shredding machine, which will benefit farmers, while an official from an electric scooter company introduced a new project on electric two-wheelers, opening new avenues for students.
Group Chairman Gurvinder Singh Bahra honored the distinguished guests and stated that the institution aims to make students job providers rather than job seekers. He emphasized that innovation and entrepreneurship are the keys to success, and Rayat Bahra Group actively supports students in bringing their ideas to life.
In conclusion, Campus Director Dr. Chander Mohan expressed gratitude to all guests, teachers, and students for their participation.
