Hoshiarpur /Daljeet Ajnoha/June 6 :;Rayat Bahra International School celebrated World Environment Day with a series of meaningful activities aimed at raising environmental awareness among students and staff. The highlight of the day was a tree plantation drive conducted on the school premises, where both students and teachers actively participated.
The event commenced with the ceremonial planting of a tree by the School Director, Dr. Chander Mohan, who emphasized the importance of caring for nature every day, not just on Environment Day. “We must live in harmony with nature and adopt eco-friendly practices in our daily lives,” he said while addressing the gathering.
Students, along with teachers, planted saplings and pledged to contribute to environmental conservation. They took a collective oath to reduce the use of plastic, conserve water, and continue planting more trees to ensure a greener future.
School Principal Rashmi Sharma spoke on the occasion and stressed the significance of such events in shaping environmentally responsible citizens. “These initiatives instill in children the importance of protecting the environment and encourage them to lead by example,” she said.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from all teachers and staff members, reinforcing the school’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
