Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/June 3 ; The Department of Allied Health Sciences at Rayat Bahra Management College organized an educational tour to the renowned Shriman Hospital in Jalandhar, aimed at enhancing students’ practical understanding of healthcare services. The visit was led by Principal Dr. Harinder Singh Gill and guided by Head of Department Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi. Faculty members Prof. Javed Ahmed Lone and Prof. Humaira Zahoor coordinated the tour.
Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi stated that the primary objective of the visit was to provide students with real-time exposure to hospital operations, laboratory practices, and the roles of healthcare professionals. Students observed diagnostic procedures, laboratory testing, and sample analysis in departments focused on blood tests, infection identification, chemical analysis, and tissue pathology.
Dr. Kusum Thakur, a senior hospital officer, briefed the students on essential procedures conducted prior to blood transfusions. She also shared her professional experiences, presented a bouquet to the visiting faculty, and donated her newly published book to the department.
The visit provided valuable experiential learning, complementing the students’ theoretical knowledge with real-world insights. Rayat Bahra faculty members extended heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kusum Thakur and the staff of Shriman Hospital for their warm hospitality and educational support.
