Hoshiarpur/Mar19/Daljeet Ajnoha।: I K Gujral Punjab Technical University, Hoshiarpur Campus organized an awareness seminar on AIDS, drug de-addiction, and rehabilitation under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ashish Arora.
The seminar was organized by the NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of the campus, with the participation of around 95 students.
On this occasion, Dr. Sandeep Kumari, Counsellor at the Government Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center, Fatehpur Chungi, Hoshiarpur, delivered an informative and impactful lecture. She shared her valuable experience of over 20 years in the field.
Dr. Kumari highlighted the growing issue of drug abuse among youth and explained its adverse effects on physical and mental health. She also spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, its causes, prevention, and the importance of timely treatment. Emphasizing the role of rehabilitation, she encouraged students to lead a healthy and drug-free life.
Dr. Kulwinder Singh Parmar, NSS Programme Officer and RRC Coordinator, formally introduced the keynote speaker. The vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Saloni Kaushal, who expressed gratitude to the speaker and the audience.
Among others present on the occasion were Dr. Sunil Kumar Mahla, Dr. Amit Handa, Ms. Komal, Ms. Kushwinder Kaur, Er. Rajinder Kumar, Er. Puneet Kumar, and Er. Gurminder Singh.
The seminar was well-received and proved to be highly informative and motivating for the participants.
