Kapurthala l Daljeet Ajnoha : The Youth Sports Welfare Board organised a Fitness and Sports Event at Fighter Sports Zone, Kartarpur Road, Kapurthala. Coaches Pradeep Bajaj and Sukhdeep Singh Bajwa trained participants in various techniques of Wushu, Karate, and Taekwondo, raising awareness among the athletes.Players from Wushu, Karate, and Tikewondo took active part and delivered impressive performances. Youth Sports Welfare Board president Rajiv Walia and Dr. Jasbir Singh were special guests at the event. They honoured the Wushu and Karate players with certificates, thanked coaches Sukhdeep Singh and Pradeep Bajaj, and extended best wishes for their future endeavours.Addressing the players, Dr. Jasbir Singh emphasised that children today must balance studies with sports. “Engaging in sports keeps students’ minds and bodies fit and active,” he said. He praised Rajiv Walia for introducing new sports in Punjab, giving the state’s youth fresh opportunities. He urged all Punjabis to stay away from drugs and excel in sports.President Rajiv Walia stressed encouraging children to participate in sports competitions. “Linking children to sports fosters their mental and physical development and keeps them healthy,” he added.Top performers included Manraj Singh Lali, Gurnoor Singh, Ali Ahmad, Simranjeet Singh, Devika Bhatti, Muskan, Payal, Ragni, Rabia, Sarabjot Singh Lali, Surjeet Singh, Jasswinder Kumar, Jatin, Rabin, Rehan Walia, and Manpreet Singh.Others present included Gagandeep Kaur, Meena Kumari, Mamta, Puneet Verma, Balwinder Singh, and Navdeep Singh.
