UK to Observe ‘Sardar Jassa

Chandigarh/Daljeet Ajnoha/Nov.15 :  The British Desi Society (UK) President Rishu Walia and Sikh Welfare and Cultural Society President Resham Singh Sandhu have announced that “Sardar Jassa Singh Ahluwalia International Memorial Day” will be observed in memory of the great Sikh leader Sardar Jassa Singh Ahluwalia (1718–1783) on November 16, 2025, at Gurdwara Guru Amar Dass Sahib, Leicester, United Kingdom.The event will be organized with the support of the Punjabi and Sikh diaspora settled in the UK. On this occasion, the book Jassa Singh Ahluwalia: The Lion of Punjab, authored by Rishu Pal Walia, will be released.To further strengthen India–UK cultural relations, a special interactive session will also be held, in which senior officials, scholars, and representatives of the overseas community will participate.Rishu Walia stated that this international event would be a major step toward promoting India’s history, culture, and heritage on the global stage.
