Workshop on Panchayati Raj and Village Common Land Act Held at BDPO Office Bhung

A workshop on the Panchayati Raj Act and Village Common Land Act was organized at the BDPO office in Bhunga by the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Chandigarh. The session aimed to educate Sarpanchs and Panchs about their roles and responsibilities in local governance.
Advocate Ashwani Verma from the Punjab & Haryana High Court and District Court Hoshiarpur delivered a lecture, explaining the legal framework and significance of these acts in rural development. He emphasized the importance of legal awareness among village representatives for effective decision-making and land management.
Resource persons Prabhjot Singh and Neha Sharma from SIRD Chandigarh further sensitized the participants on governance, policy implementation, and the role of Panchayats in community welfare.
BDPO Bhunga, Dilpreet Singh Chhina, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of grassroots governance and urging the Panchayats to actively engage in rural development initiatives.
The workshop provided a platform for interactive discussions, ensuring that the local representatives are well-equipped to serve their villages efficiently.
