Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/June 14 : Sant Baba Dalip Singh Memorial Khalsa College, Dumeli — an educational institution run under the aegis of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee — observed World No Tobacco Day with great enthusiasm. The college’s Red Ribbon Club and National Service Scheme (NSS) jointly organized a poster-making competition and a slogan-writing contest dedicated to the theme of tobacco prevention. Around 20 students actively participated in the event.
The competitions witnessed tough competition among the participants. In the poster-making competition, First Prize was won by Sandeep Kaur (B.A. Part I) Second Prize went to Kiranpreet Kaur (B.A. Part I) Third Prize was again bagged by Sandeep Kaur (B.A. Part I) In the slogan-writing competition,
First Prize was shared by Jaspreet Kaur (B.A. Part I) and Tarandeep Kaur (10+2 Arts) Second Prize went to Parminder Kaur (B.A. Part I) Third Prize was awarded to Raveena Ghera (10+2 Arts)
The winners, along with all participants, were felicitated with prizes and certificates.
On this occasion, College Principal Dr. Gurnam Singh Rasoolpur appreciated the efforts of the participants and encouraged all students to take part in such awareness initiatives. Madam Amarpal Kaur motivated the students to stay away from substance abuse and focus on building a bright future.
The event was attended by the entire college staff and student body.
