Kapurthala /Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb.12 : The Youth Sports Welfare Board organised a programme at Fighter Sports Zone, Kartarpur Road, Kapurthala, under the leadership of Gagandeep Kaur.Chief guests Rajiv Walia, president of the Youth Sports Welfare Board, and Dr. Jasbir Singh graced the event. They honoured needy athletes by presenting them with certificates and bicycles.Addressing the gathering, Rajiv Walia said some children in our society lag behind in studies and sports due to financial constraints. “We must all come together to support such children, as only with our collective help can they reach the heights of success,” he added.Dr. Jasbir Singh emphasised that nutritious food and sports play a crucial role in keeping athletes healthy and fit. “Sports relieve mental and physical fatigue, infusing the body with freshness and agility. In today’s era, imparting sports training to students in all schools should be mandatory,” he stated.Among those present were Puneet Verma, Sukhdeep Singh, Jaswinder Kumar, Balwinder Singh, Santokh Singh, Jyoti and Mamta.
