An amount of ₹9 crore 72 lakh has now been released due to the efforts of the current Lok Sabha MP Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Nov.15 : Tanda MLA Jasvir Singh Raja Gill has launched a sharp attack on former BJP Lok Sabha members Vijay Sampla and Som Parkash. He said that during their tenure the public received nothing but wait and hollow promises in the name of development. Raja Gill said that former MP Vijay Sampla, in his recent press conference, exposed the failures of his own tenure. Taking a dig, he said that before mocking the Aam Aadmi Party, Sampla should first look at himself in the mirror.
The MLA revealed that an amount of ₹2 crore 45 lakh belonging to former MP Vijay Sampla and ₹7 crore 27 lakh 43 thousand 550 belonging to Som Parkash remained unused in the MP LAD fund for a long time. Due to non–utilisation, the amount was returned, depriving the public of any benefit.
Raja Gill said that the total unused amount of ₹9 crore 72 lakh 43 thousand 550 was re-released due to the persistent efforts of the current Lok Sabha member Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal. He put in strong efforts to get this amount sanctioned again for the constituency, which will now give momentum to the stalled development works in Tanda and Hoshiarpur.
The MLA said, “Development funds belong to the public, not to anyone’s personal empire. This money is for public welfare and development of the region, not to be locked in anyone’s treasury.” He sharply questioned, “What were these MPs doing during their tenure? Were they asleep for all five years?” Raja Gill also said that former MP Vijay Sampla, who is now claiming in press conferences that this grant was released because of him, should also tell the people why he and his party colleague Som Parkash did not utilise this amount for public service during their respective tenures. Raja Gill said that now when Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal has successfully got this amount released, some people are falsely trying to take credit. He said, “The public knows very well who actually worked and who merely indulged in statements.” He added that these former MPs hardly ever reached out to the people.
The MLA stated that now the entire amount will be spent transparently for the welfare of the public. In the coming months, works related to roads, schools, drinking water, and other civic facilities in the Tanda region will be completed at a fast pace. He said that the present Aam Aadmi Party government and its representatives are fully committed to development, and now the public will witness real development instead of mere promises. Raja Gill expressed confidence that with the support of Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal, this amount will set a new direction for development, and the entire Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency, along with the Tanda region, will become a model of progress in the coming times.
