63rd Principal Harbhajan Singh All

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb.13 : The 63rd Principal Harbhajan Singh All India Football Tournament, being organized under the leadership of Kulwant Singh Sangha, President of Principal Harbhajan Singh Sporting Club, commenced today with great enthusiasm and grandeur at Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur.
Member of Parliament Dr. Rajkumar attended the opening match as the Chief Guest, while the sports event was presided over by Sikh Educational Council President Sant Sadhu Singh Kaharpur, Patron Dr. Jung Bahadur Singh Rai, Manager Inderjit Singh Bharta, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh, and SP Shavinderjit Singh Bains.
Welcoming the distinguished guests, Club President Kulwant Singh Sangha said that the tournament, now in its 63rd year, has become one of the country’s prominent football events. This edition features participation from 12 leading football clubs, 12 college-level teams, and 10 Under-17 academy teams from across the nation.
Chief Guest MP Dr. Rajkumar praised the excellent arrangements made by the sporting club and stated that the tournament not only keeps the memory of Principal Harbhajan Singh alive but also plays a significant role in promoting football. He also announced a grant of ₹5 lakh from his discretionary fund to support the tournament’s organization.
In the opening matches, Punjab Football Club Round Glass defeated Football Academy Baddon 3–0 in the Under-17 academy category. In another match, Delhi Football Club registered a convincing 8–2 victory over Hyderabad Club. In the club category match, CRPF Jalandhar defeated Namdhari Football Club by 2–1.
On this occasion, several prominent personalities including Daljeet Singh Bains, Wing Commander Hardev Singh Dhillon, Balraj Singh Sangha, Malkit Singh, Harjit Singh Bains, Rajwinder Singh, Harnandan Singh Khabra, Principal Jagmohan Singh, Secretary Dr. Parmpreet Kaindowal, Prof. Sarwan Singh, Rupinder Jyot Babbu, Jagjit Singh Ganeshpur, Baninder Singh, Achhar kumar Joshi, Baljinder Mann, and a large number of football enthusiasts were present.
