72nd Annual Annual Mela at

Hoshiarpur/ Daljeet Ajnoha/July 27 :  The 72nd annual Mela at the ancient Maa Durga Mandir in village Bham is being organised from July 29–31 under the leadership of the Mandir Mukh sevadar, Behan Vinod Kumari, with support from local residents and the Bhameshwari Missionary Trust, Bham (Hoshiarpur). Sevadar Gurnam Singh Jaswal told devotees that, as part of preparations for the 72nd annual Mela, early-morning processions (prabhat feris) have been held continuously since July 23.
He said a flag procession will be taken out on July 29. On July 30, a havan will be performed at 10 a.m. with full offerings, followed by arti at 11 a.m. kanya pujan and community lunch (Brahm Bhoj) will be held at 1 p.m., and at 2 p.m. the ritual of hoisting the flag will commence. The night of July 30 will feature the annual grand Bhagwati jagran. On July 31, qawwalis will be staged.
The Bhameshwari Missionary Trust will run a free medical camp on July 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., organisers said. Performers at the grand Bhagwati jagran on the night of July 30 will include Jogi Alawalpur, Puri and Party Shankar Wale, Neelam Thakkarwal, Sunny Sehgal, Jassi Bham, Deepak Durga, Mahant Raj Kumar Ji Saloh Wale, Jasvinder Mahi, D S Tirath and others, who will sing devotional hymns throughout the night in praise of the goddess.
On the night of July 31, qawwals Sarabjit Sarb and Kuldeep Ruhani’s party Bhullarai, and international qawwali artist Parvez Alam will perform. Organisers said Dadra Hospital, Bham will operate a free medical camp on July 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A community kitchen (langar) will serve devotees throughout the duration of the annual Mela.
