Baljinder Mann Flaunts Punjabi Children’

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha /July 19—Renowned Punjabi children’s author Baljinder Mann has raised the global banner of children’s literature, said Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar at the release of the latest issue of the children’s magazine Nikian Karumblan in the village of Mahimdowal. Dr. Ishank said it is a matter of immense pride that Baljinder Mann, a resident of Mahimdowal in our constituency, has set a new benchmark in the literary field by having his name entered in the India Book of World Records. This achievement has made not only the local area but the entire Punjabi community proud.
Dr. Ishank added that the children’s magazine Nikian Karumblan has been edited and published continuously for the past 31 years. The magazine aims to connect children with their rich heritage through the Punjabi language and to instil moral values and ideals. He said Baljinder Mann works selflessly, day and night, to guide the new generation.
The release ceremony was presided over by mandal sarpanch Gurjeet Singh, along with Gurvinder Singh, former sarpanch Kashmir Singh Kahira, Niranjan Singh, Amarjeet Singh Bhai, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, president of Dashmesh Sports Club, Gurdeep Chand and Bhupinder Singh Bhinda. They noted that Baljinder Mann has so far authored 25 original books, translated 7, edited 35, and has been editing Nikian Karumblan for 31 years with courage and dedication, earning him a distinguished place in children’s literature. For these contributions he has become a leading Punjabi children’s writer and a holder of the India Book of Records.
At the event, Baljinder Mann urged children to read newspapers, magazines and books in addition to their curriculum so they may develop higher values and beliefs. He said children’s books and magazines play an important role in shaping and beautifying our lives. Vote of thanks was delivered by Harveer Mann, president of the Nikian Karumblan Readers’ Forum.
Also present were village panchayat member Pawante, literature enthusiast and numberdar Gurbachan Das, and city residents including Gagan Kapoor, Rozi, Sonia Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Lakhvinder Kaur, Gagan Kumar, Raj Mal, Saroj Rani, Manjeet Kaur and Harmanpreet Kaur.
