Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/May 29 : As part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing war against drugs, Additional Director General of Police (Human Rights) Dr. Naresh Kumar Arora addressed a large gathering today at a private venue in Mahilpur. The event witnessed a significant turnout of people from Mahilpur and nearby villages, all united under the common cause of building a drug-free society.
Dr. Arora expressed deep concern over the rising menace of drug abuse, stating that it is weakening the very foundation of society and destroying the future of the youth. He called upon the people to take a solemn pledge to stay away from drugs and to actively participate in efforts to free their families, villages, and cities from the grip of addiction.
He emphasized that drug addiction is not merely a personal issue but a serious social ailment that requires collective effort. He urged citizens to come forward with information about drug traffickers or anyone involved in spreading drugs, assuring them that their identities would be kept confidential and their safety would be guaranteed by the government.
Dr. Arora also informed the audience that anti-drug task forces have been set up in every district by the Punjab Police to take stringent action against the drug mafia.
The event also saw participation from several local social and educational organizations, whose members took an oath to support the drug-free movement.
Attendees listened attentively to Dr. Arora’s message and many pledged their support to contribute towards the creation of a healthier, addiction-free society.
