We will take Baba Saheb’s ideology to every home” – Advocate Palwinder Mana
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/May 4 : Village Mana witnessed a grand celebration of Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary, organized by the Dr. Ambedkar Sports Club, Mana, under the leadership of Advocate Palwinder Mana and Jasbir Singh Banga. Children’s sports competitions were held on the occasion, with the events inaugurated by Namberdar Balwinder Singh Heer by cutting the ribbon. Women also participated enthusiastically in races and musical chair events.
Missionary singer Vicky Bahadar enthralled the gathering with songs depicting Baba Sahib’s life struggles, connecting the audience to his ideals. This was followed by a performance from the Azad Rangmanch Kala Phagwara team, who presented a choreographed play on Baba Sahjb’s struggles and delivered messages rooted in Ambedkarite thought.
Advocate Palwinder Mana and Namberdar Balwinder Singh highlighted that Baba Sahib devoted his entire life to securing rights for Dalits and backward communities. They noted how he empowered Indian women with equal rights to education, employment, and politics. Advocate Mana urged the crowd to adopt Baba Sahib’s vision to progress in life.
The Dr. Ambedkar Women’s Wing of Village Mana arranged a community langar for all attendees. On this occasion, Subedar Harbhajan Singh, Babu Roshan Lal, and Dr. Sarwan Singh shared their thoughts and extended greetings for the auspicious day.
