Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/May 4 :In a farmer-friendly move, PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroya has launched a pro-active seed sale drive for paddy and other kharif season crops. Instead of waiting for farmers to visit, the KVK is directly delivering high-quality certified seeds right at their doorstep i.e. to cooperative societies and nearby village panchayats based on their specific demands. This innovative approach ensures timely availability of seeds right at the grassroots level, helping farmers prepare for the upcoming sowing season without delays. Paddy varieties include PR-133, PR-128, PR-126, PR-121, desi maize JC-12, fodder maize J 1007 and summer moong SML 1827 suited to the region’s soil and climate, all produced under PAU’s stringent quality standards.
Dr. Pardeep Kumar, Deputy Director (Training), PAU-KVK Langroya, believes that engaging with cooperative societies and panchayats helps reduce logistical challenges and encourages farmers to adopt improved varieties for higher yields.
