Hoshiarpur — Daljeet Ajnoha/July 2 : Government College Hoshiarpur organized a special programme, in collaboration with the Eye Donation Association, Hoshiarpur, to encourage students not only to pursue education but also to take an active role in social welfare activities. The campaign aimed to sensitize students to local problems, promote dialogue for solutions, support poor families and motivate them towards education, and raise awareness about the importance of blood, eye and organ donation.
As part of the initiative, a dedicated student team visited the prominent welfare organisation Ram Charit Manas Prachar Mandal. Civil Surgeon and social worker Dr. Ajay Bagga, speaking to the students, said that while students’ primary aim should be to acquire education and realise their dreams, awareness of social welfare alongside studies will help improve life. He shared his experiences in social service, described blood donation as a gift of life, and stressed the need for focused awareness on this subject.
Detailed information was provided about the work being done by the Ram Charit Manas Prachar Mandal. Prof. Bahadar Singh Sunet said that for the holistic development of youth, it is commendable that educational institutions not only provide quality education but also inspire students toward humane values, ethics and social welfare activities.
On the occasion, Ram Charit Manas Prachar Mandal chairman Harish Saini, representatives of the Eye Donation Association including Prof. Bahadar Singh Sunet, vice-president Gurpreet Singh, Prem Saini, Jatinder Kaur, Santosh Saini, Harvinder Kaur, Lakhvinder Kaur Dimpy and Kumkum Sood thanked the principal and entire staff of the Government College after seeing the students’ keen interest and enthusiasm in social service. They said these students would not only fulfil their personal aspirations but also make significant contributions to social welfare and the nation’s progress in the future.
