Development works related to roads, playgrounds, streets and drains and rainwater conservation have gained momentum
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/July 6 : MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar, attended the football tournament organized at Maili village of Chabbewal constituency, encouraged the players and congratulated the organizers for this initiative. Addressing the villagers, he shared information about the grants worth ₹61 lakh released for the development of Maili and the ongoing and completed development works under them. He said that the development work of the stadium is going on at a cost of ₹15 lakh to provide better facilities for sports to the youth.
Dr. Ishank Kumar said that various projects are being completed in a planned manner to further strengthen the infrastructure of the village. The repair work of the flood-damaged Hoshiarpur-Mahilpur road to Maili has been completed at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh, which has provided great relief to the residents of the area in terms of traffic. Apart from this, the works related to streets and drains have also been completed at a cost of Rs. 9 lakh. The construction of a shed in the village crematorium and the work related to run-off control for rainwater drainage have also been successfully completed.
He further informed that apart from this, with the aim of water conservation and improving the groundwater level, a rainwater recharge cum silt detention structure is also being constructed at a cost of Rs. 21.62 lakh, which will play an important role in water conservation and reducing the impact of floods in the future.
MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is committed to the all-round development of villages and development works are being carried out in every village of Chabbewal constituency as per the requirement. He said that every legitimate demand of the people is being fulfilled on priority basis and this pace of development will continue in the coming times as well.
On this occasion, Zila Parishad Member Charanjit Bunty of Maili thanked Dr. Ishank and said that not only the people of Maili village but all the residents of Chabbewal constituency sincerely appreciate the work being done by him Sarpanch Ashok Kumar, Kuldeep Raj Laddu, Sukhvir Singh, , Samiti Member Kundan Lal etc. were also present on this occasion.
