by

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha /july 6 : Brigadier Rajeshwar Singh (Retd), SC, SM, Group Task Officer (GTO), Sardar Bahadur Amin Chand Soni Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (SBACS AFPI), Bajwara, Hoshiarpur, has called upon the youth of Punjab to seize the opportunity of joining the state’s premier institution dedicated to preparing young men and women for officer entry into the Indian Armed Forces.

Brigadier Rajeshwar Singh informed that SBACS AFPI is the first and only institute of its kind established by the Government of Punjab under the Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training for Graduates through graduate-level entries such as CDS, AFCAT and OTA.

He said that apart from imparting quality academic coaching and specialised Services Selection Board (SSB) training, the institute aims to instil a deep sense of Nationalism, Discipline, leadership and Service Before Self among the youth of Punjab, thereby preparing them to become worthy leaders of the nation’s Armed Forces.

The first training course is scheduled to commence in end July 2026. The programme comprises three months of intensive academic coaching and three weeks of comprehensive SSB training under the guidance of experienced defence officers and subject experts.

Brigadier Rajeshwar Singh further highlighted that the course is highly subsidised by the Government of Punjab, making quality defence coaching accessible to deserving youth irrespective of their economic background. He added that the Government of Punjab bears the expenditure on lodging, nutritious meals, hostel accommodation and a host of modern recreational and training facilities, including a state-of-the-art auditorium, well-equipped library, modern gymnasium, shooting range and sports facilities, thereby providing an ideal environment for holistic personality development.

The institute invites applications from graduates as well as students pursuing their final year of graduation, both boys and girls, who have secured at least 55 percent marks, are born after 1 January 2003, and fulfil the prescribed medical and physical standards for officer entry into the Armed Forces.

Appealing to the youth of the state, Brigadier Rajeshwar Singh said, “Punjab and Hoshiarpur in particular, has a glorious military tradition and has always produced brave officers who have served the nation with distinction. I urge the young boys and girls of Punjab, to come forward, embrace this opportunity and prepare themselves to wear the uniform with pride. This institute is committed to nurturing the next generation of military leaders who will serve the nation with honour, courage and integrity.”
