Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/July 17 : Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2023 batch, Punjab cadre, Rakesh Kumar Meena, who recently took charge as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Hoshiarpur, has outlined his vision for accelerating rural development in the district. During an interaction with renowned social worker, educationist, and senior journalist Sanjeev Kumar, Meena shared his priorities and developmental roadmap for Hoshiarpur.
Rakesh Kumar Meena said that accelerating rural development in Hoshiarpur district would be his foremost priority. He emphasized that all development initiatives would be implemented with transparency, accountability, and a people-centric approach to ensure that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary.
He further stated that sustainable development would remain the guiding principle of his administration. Special emphasis would be laid on strengthening rural infrastructure, promoting self-employment opportunities, empowering women, protecting the environment, and improving the overall quality of life in villages. He added that all ongoing rural development projects are being comprehensively reviewed so they can be made more effective, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the people.
Meena also affirmed that his administration would work with complete dedication and commitment to ensure the timely and efficient implementation of development programmes, with the objective of delivering the benefits of welfare schemes to the last person in society.
During the meeting, Sanjeev Kumar congratulated Rakesh Kumar Meena on his appointment as ADC (Development), Hoshiarpur, and extended his best wishes for a successful tenure. He expressed confidence that Meena’s youthful leadership, administrative acumen, and progressive vision would significantly contribute to the holistic development of the district’s rural areas.
