Illegal Structure of Drug Peddler

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Nov.13 : As part of the Punjab government’s ongoing campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh ’, a joint operation by the Hoshiarpur and Tanda police demolished an illegal construction linked to a known drug peddler in Chandigarh Colony, Tanda. The unauthorized structure had been raised by Kamlesh, wife of Jeevan Lal, a resident of Ward No. 11, Chandigarh Colony.Providing details about the action, SP (PBI) Major Singh said the demolition was carried out legally in the presence of the civil administration, following directions from SSP Hoshiarpur Sandeep Kumar Malik. He informed that 16 cases under the NDPS Act are registered against Kamlesh Rani, who is currently lodged in jail.The police official reiterated that under the directives of the Punjab government, the Hoshiarpur police will continue strict action against drug smuggling and illegal encroachments. He appealed to the public to report any such unlawful activities to the police, assuring immediate and firm action against offenders. He further warned drug traffickers to abandon the trade or be ready to face severe consequences.Residents of the area had reportedly been distressed by the activities of these traffickers and appreciated the government’s firm stance. Locals expressed their support for the Punjab government’s initiative to eradicate the drug menace from the state.
