Hoshiarpur/ June 19/Daljeet Ajnoha : The district administration will observe International Yoga Day on June 21 at the Police Lines ground, officials said on Friday. SDM Parmpreet Singh held a review meeting with officers from various departments at the venue and issued necessary directions for the event.
Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, the district-level International Yoga Day programme will be held from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on June 21 with support from multiple organisations. Participant registration will take place between 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., the SDM said.
Parmpreet Singh instructed concerned officials to regularly monitor preparations and ensure all required arrangements are completed in time to facilitate smooth conduct of the event. Multiple instructors will lead yoga sessions and speakers will highlight yoga’s role in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The SDM appealed to non-governmental organisations, the police department, PRTC Jehan Khilan, BSF Camp Khadkan, students from various colleges, youth clubs, department heads and the general public to attend the district-level celebrations in large numbers.
Officials were also directed to arrange refreshments, drinking water, sanitation, first-aid, traffic management, tents and other essential facilities. District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer Dr. Surinderpal Kaur, nodal officer Dr. Harish Bhatia and other officials attended the meeting.
