Says economic activities to get boost, expressed gratitude to MP Dr Chabbewal

Chabbewal MLA Dr Ishank Kumar said that the resumption of train between Jaijon Doaba and Phagwara rail link had fulfilled the long pending demand of the region, paving way to boost the economic activities in the area as Jaijon was one of the major hub of trade.
Flagging off the train from Jaijon Doaba to Phagwara recently, MLA Dr Ishank Kumar said this facility would be highly beneficial not only for the residents of Kandi but also for the natives of Himachal Pradesh to get rail connectivity across the country through this rail service.
He said that this was the major rail link, which had been suspended after Covid resulting in inconvenience to the public to access the rail connectivity with other parts of the state and country. He expressed gratitude to Hoshiarpur member parliament Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal for taking up this issue in the parliament followed by personally meeting the union railways minister to expedite the resumption of the train.
He stressed that the Jaijon Doaba had unique significance of being epicentre of trade and economy in this particular region that is why this train connectivity was highly necessitated. He said that the major towns naming Saila Khurd, Garshankar, Nawashahr and Phagwara would have now rail access facilitating hundreds of daily commuters.
He informed that primarily, this train would ply five days a week except Thursday and Sunday. The train will chug-off at 10:20am from Phagwara and will reach 1:20pm at Jaijon Doaba railway station, while it will start its return journey at 1:45pm from Jaijon and will reach Phagwara at 5pm.
He assured that more times would be sought from the railways in time to come in larger interest of public.
