Mahilpur Football Players’ Society Vows

Veteran footballers from Mahilpur, a locality renowned as a nursery for the sport, reiterated their commitment to shaping the future of the next generation and pledged comprehensive support for emerging, needy players so that the area can once again produce world-class athletes — such as the late Olympian Jarnail Singh, Arjuna Awardee Gurdev Singh Gill and Punjab’s celebrated Inder Singh — who can bring pride to the state and the nation.
The Society’s monthly meeting was held under the guidance of Takdeer Singh Bharta, coach Rajinder Sharma and Darshan Singh Majara Dingaria. Presenting practical suggestions drawn from their personal sporting experience, coaches Bandna Singh, Daljit Singh Bittu and Surinderpal Singh Liddhar urged sustained and smooth functioning of the Society’s activities.
All members at the meeting voiced deep concern over the continuing decline in the sporting field and assured full cooperation to halt and reverse the trend, pledging to discharge the Society’s responsibilities. Chairing the meeting, Talwinder Singh Heer Nangal said the Society’s core objectives are to strengthen mutual brotherhood and partnership, honour players who have taken football to international levels, and work collectively to inspire the younger generation to take up the sport.
A large number of members attended, including Yashpal Jassi, Madan Lal Maddo, Sandeep Saini, Jasvir Singh Bharta, Kuldeep Rai, Narinder Singh Jiyan, Kuldeep Singh Dhada, Jasveer Kaindowal, Parveen Kumar, Balveer Singh, Sandeep Kaindowal, Manjinder Singh, Sukhdev Sangha, Gurtej Singh Sabi, Sarabjit Chandeli, Satnam Singh Satti, Rampal, Daljit Baghaura and Paramjit Singh. Well-wishers living abroad participated online, offered suggestions and registered their presence.
