Experts highlight opportunities in MSMEs, agriculture, and industry under Punjab Government policies
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha /August 7 : With the objective of encouraging Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to invest and establish businesses in Punjab, NRI Setu, in collaboration with the Government of Punjab, organized an online webinar titled “Mitti Murh Wajaan Maardi – Back to Roots.” The webinar witnessed participation from a large number of NRIs, entrepreneurs, and potential investors from India and abroad.
Chairperson of the District Planning Board, Hoshiarpur, Karamjit Kaur, highlighted the Punjab Government’s investor-friendly policies, stating that the government is committed to providing a transparent and business-friendly environment. She informed participants that all required approvals for eligible investment projects are being facilitated within 45 days, making it easier for industries to establish operations in the state.
Gurminder Madan, CEO of NRI Setu, said the organization’s mission is to reconnect overseas Punjabis with their roots by helping them invest, establish businesses, and create employment opportunities in Punjab. He assured participants that NRI Setu would provide complete handholding support from project planning to implementation.
Dr. Harinder Singh discussed investment opportunities in dairy, agro-processing, and rural industries, while Hunar Brar shared insights into modern farming, horticulture, value addition, and agriculture-based enterprises.
Rajeev Bajwa, Consultant with the National Board of MSME, explained various Central and Punjab Government schemes, subsidies, and incentives available for MSMEs, startups, and industrial ventures.
The webinar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session led by CEO Gurminder Madan. Participants appreciated the initiative and expressed the need for more such knowledge-sharing programmes to strengthen investment opportunities for NRIs in Punjab.
