Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Mar.20 : Senior BJP leader and former Cabinet Minister Tikshan Sood stated in a press note that arhatias working in mandis had been demanding for decades an increase in their commission, fixed long ago, as their expenses had risen sharply in the interim.Accepting their demand, the Modi government has raised the arhatia commission from ₹46 per quintal to ₹50.70 per quintal. This roughly 10% hike has sparked joy across the arhatia community nationwide.Sood said the decision strengthens the agricultural sector’s framework. BJP leaders Vijay Pathania (former district president), Satish Bawa (district BJP vice-president), Yashpal Sharma, and Vijay Kumar Satipal were present on the occasion.
