Hoshiarpur/ 16 July/Daljeet Ajnoha : Hoshiarpur Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal today addressed a special public gathering in village Motian, announcing a war against drugs. The gathering saw participation from hundreds of villagers, including youth, women, and the elderly. Dr. Chabbewal stated clearly that if we want to secure and empower our future generations, we must eradicate the evil of drug abuse from its roots. He emphasized that Punjab is the land of saints and gurus, but today, it is suffering under the weight of drug addiction. Drugs are hollowing out the youth, destroying families, and spreading disorder in society. That is why he has launched this public awareness campaign against drugs from village Motian, which will be extended to every village and every street.
The MP urged people to take a pledge — “One Village, One Resolution – Drug-Free Village.” He also said that drug peddlers will not be spared, and clear instructions have been given to the administration to take strict action against anyone involved in drug trafficking. Dr. Chabbewal appealed to the youth to focus on sports, education, and self-employment. He also shared information about various government schemes aimed at helping youth channel their energy in the right direction. The village sarpanch, panchayat members, and other dignitaries present at the event also assured their full support in the fight against drugs. The villagers collectively pledged that they would not allow drug abuse to take root in their village.
