Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/July 9 : .Following the Punjab Government’s appointment of IAS officer Nikas Kumar (2020 batch) as the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, social worker Sanjiv Kumar and eminent industrialist Naveen Aggarwal felicitated him and extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for his new responsibility.
During his tenure as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Hoshiarpur, Nikas Kumar earned widespread respect as an honest, hardworking, compassionate and people-oriented administrator. He played a pivotal role in strengthening the Panchayati Raj institutions, accelerating holistic rural development, and effectively implementing the Punjab Government’s flagship development initiatives, particularly the Rangla Punjab campaign.
Under his leadership, the Panchayati Raj elections in Hoshiarpur district were conducted peacefully, fairly and efficiently. His meticulous planning, effective management and strong team leadership received appreciation from all sections of society.
Nikas Kumar also remained deeply committed to environmental conservation. He spearheaded several initiatives to promote large-scale tree plantation, protect natural resources and create public awareness about environmental sustainability. His efforts gave a fresh impetus to environmental conservation campaigns across Hoshiarpur.
He also played a key role on behalf of the district administration in the successful organization of Nature Fest 2025 and Nature Fest 2026. Thanks to his visionary planning and efficient execution, both events were highly successful and helped establish Hoshiarpur as a prominent destination at the state level.
Speaking on the occasion, Nikas Kumar said that he had developed a deep emotional bond with Hoshiarpur and would always cherish the love and support of its people as well as the cooperation of the district administration. He assured that he would discharge his responsibilities in Jalandhar with the same honesty, dedication and commitment to public welfare.
Social worker Sanjiv Kumar described Nikas Kumar as a young, honest and development-oriented officer who represents the true strength of the administrative system. He said that Nikas Kumar’s people-centric approach and developmental initiatives in Hoshiarpur would always be remembered. He also expressed confidence that the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, would greatly benefit from his administrative expertise, experience and visionary leadership.
