Hoshiarpur /Daljeet Ajnoha/May 10 : In a special interview, Station House Officer (SHO) Parvinderjit Pal Singh of Hoshiarpur shed light on the ongoing battle against drug abuse and trafficking in the region. He shared that the anti-drug campaign, spearheaded by the state government and local police, has made a significant impact across the area.
According to SHO Singh, the police have successfully identified and sent more than 30 young individuals to de-addiction and rehabilitation centres, where they are receiving completely free treatment. This initiative is helping these youth to escape the grip of addiction and guiding them toward a healthier and more productive life.
He further revealed that, in line with government directives, the police are actively investigating and sealing the properties of known drug traffickers. “So far, several properties have been sealed, and one particular case is still under investigation,” Singh stated.
Addressing the current law and order situation, SHO Singh reassured the public that everything is under control, and there is no need for fear or panic. However, he emphasized that citizens should remain alert and cautious, and urged them to report any suspicious activities immediately.
He also appealed to the youth and their families to reach out to the police without fear if someone is struggling with addiction or if they have information about drug peddlers. The police, he assured, are fully committed to supporting and assisting the community in this fight.
